transplantion station, what's your location?
Please do read that title to the butchered tune of Conjunction Junction, cause that was totally my intention.
Step one of Project Reuse Old Characters: figuring out who I want to actually transfer. This is gonna be a fun game, by which I mean "maybe make me cry", but I have a working computer for the next hour and need to do something word-ish, so let's see how this works. All names subject to change.
Shell: Probably going to This City's Got Grace, cause his boyfriend is already transplanted here and I miss them and Bast indulges me way too much for their own good. >> Twenty-something with a giant family and a lot to prove. Mentally ill problem child turned slightly healthier adult and teen counselor. Daddy's boy. Probably witch/magician? I'm not sure how to transplant him with his family issues into being a guardian angel, which is my other thought, and Shell just isn't himself without a million siblings/cousins and a dual-edged inferiority/rage issue with them all.
The Johnson boys: Which are technically the same family, but. Four brothers, probably witches wherever they go: the teacher, the musician, the priest, and the mechanic. Or, if you prefer: the responsible one, the depressed one, the joker, and the loud friendly one. Chris, Adam, Gabriel, and Michael. Four close-knit boys who all desperately need anger management and family boundaries. Will probably retain two sisters as well (Sierra and Meda; the quiet one and the wild one). Also coming with them is Michael's, if not everyone's, magic school/commune/boyscout camp.
Jo and Rhette: The changeling and the girl who hangs on her every word. Always looking for a new, better game to play to keep Jo interested. Also possibly coming along: Tyoma, the one who keeps Rhette something like grounded and eventually third to the threesome that kind of sort of stabilizes them. I don't know what else Rhette or Tyoma might be, or if they'd just be human. (I kind of like Rhette as the human secret-keeper that Jo latches onto. Tyoma... depends on where they go. I was thinking maybe Cityverse is Bast is amendable, so... maybe a wolf, maybe a death?)
David Anthony Miller: A totally human man who can see through the masquerade and is trying to protect himself and his own. His family was killed by something not human, but he's not exactly on a rampage; just trying to survive. (I'd actually like to keep the power-negator factor from his original verse I just don't know where that would fit? Hmmph.)
Simon and Monty: Yes, this was a very elaborate future plan for Nathan's sons in Heroes at one point, but I never did anything with it, so... nyeh. The rockstar medium who fakes being a lot stupider than he is so people don't put expectations on him, and the quiet scientist little brother with a power I never figured out. (....actually come to think of it, my view for older!Monty was actually a lot like Carlos, right down to being gay. He had a massive crush for Mohinder, which is how he ended up in science in the first place. Digression over.)
Sarah Morgan and Mary Katherine: The telekinetic twins, one who was so scared of her powers she ran away from home, the other who stayed. I don't have much more on them, I think it's gonna depend on where they go.
Andra, Pete, Johnny, Ben, Faith: Okay, this is totally self-indulgent. They were ridiculous and drama-filled and going to be hard as fuck to transfer because all their personal stories were wrapped up in characters I do not feel comfortable transfering bcause they were Mat and Nora's. But dear god I miss these five so fucking much, so... I'm still gonna figure something out. Five siblings: The cheery lesbian daredevil; the nerdboy doctor who never felt like part of the family; the bouncy happy gayboy; the quiet introverted writer with the fighting problem; the overdramatic dancer and teen mother. (And just to point out how wrapped up in other people they are, my inital attempt to write started with: The daredevil with a wife and children; the doctor who feels like an outcast with everyone but his best friend; the bouncy happy gayboy who lives half his life in his best friend's pocket. God, I miss these relationships, too, but... mrrh.)
Mary Tara: The girl who doesn't want to ever be a mother and never quite grows up, but nonetheless mothers everyone incessantly. I'm thinking an angel, I'm just not sure where or what kind.
E and Em: Two thirds of triplets; the callgirl and the assassin who are both way more normal that you'd think people in their jobs could be. I was initially thinking Sentient Magic, but I'm not 100% sure anymore.
Aravis and Caspian: The modern-day cowboy and her agoraphobic little brother.
Balla: The magical ambassador. (Well, that was her original job, anyway, I'd like to see her in something similar.) Also single mother, sophisticated woman, horror fanatic, and touch-addict. You can tell we're getting to the characters I did less with, huh?
Maxwell: The bounciest vampire you ever did see. He let his cousin, who was turned against her will, turn him so that she didn't have to be alone.
Lucy March: The angel with a driven-in desire to learn about demons, whose family abused her and used her as half-bait/half-weapon, and who therefore is terrified of angels and feels more at home among demons.
Louise, Billy and Nicholas: Bast, this one's on you to poke at with me. Happy threesome needs to go somewhere, I'm thinking either City or one of the two superhero verses?
Ian and Anna: Bast, this is another one I'd need you to be up for, but I liked these two, and I'd love to put them somewhere.
Lyman: The angelic storyteller with a child-like wonder that still hasn't gone away in hundreds of years. A family man with no family and a wanderer by trade.
William: Your friendly neighborhood handyman with a supremely fucked-up supernatural past that he can remember exactly nothing about.
Mattie: The boy who grew up in a family of spies, became a secretary to spies, and then found his home blown up in pieces around him and himself thrust into a much more active role. (Originally the tenth doctor in a non-scifi Doctor Who AU. I honestly can't decide if I want to do OC things with him or just write that fic eventually.... Also could probably replace 'spies' with something magical, honestly. A coven or something.)
The bodyfail metacrisis: Originally a Who OC, a Jack/Master metacrisis whose origins gave him unlimited brainpower, very few morals, and a body that was falling apart at the metaphorical seams. Which is a character description I'd still love to put to use somewhere.
Saxon: A universe-travelling hedonist and part-time salesman who's out for information and all the good times he can gather. Mildly psychic, Chaotic Neutral to the hilt, Egoist, only loyal to himself and the people he considers his. He will probably end up in Drinksverse where his wife is, I'm just not 100% yet.
I THINK this is going to be it, I'm just not 100% sure yet. and this is if I don't scrap anything I have currently and just try to salvage the couple of worthwhile characters. So. We'll see. Next I need to actually develop verses enough that I can do things with them. Let's see how long THAT takes.
(If any of these strike someone reading as interesting enough to poke at, or if you want to poke my verse list and suggest places you think they might be interesting, feel free to ask questions/give suggestions. God knows I could use them.)

I dunno, 'heaven politics = large Italian family" sounds pretty reasonable to me, fwiw.
going to be hard as fuck to transfer because all their personal stories were wrapped up in characters I do not feel comfortable transfering bcause they were Mat and Nora's
I have in the past done 1:1 replacements of characters that weren't mine; if you want to brainpick over this I'd be happy to chat with you on AIM or something about it.

This is not inaccurate. XD I just don't know for sure how the angels are set up in that verse? It's not entirely mine and Bast has a lot more backstory than I can remember at the moment set up, so.... Yes. It's a thing.

I may hit you up for this at some point. I am still feeling things out, so. Thank you. <3
Shell
I was thinking about the mental illness part and I kind of, if you go with the Guardian aspect, like the idea of him being a Guardian of either a poo/run down area or in a place that had seen a lot of hardship like war or something. I don't know, I'm just spit-balling ideas here but that came to mind.
Also, can we have Shell and the puppy? Cause i feel like that would be sweet and happymaking. Especially if he's a witch but even as an angel I feel it would make me happy.

(I am so helpful, oh yes I am. /fails)
YES, definitely. Whatever way I end up going. That would be darling. XD
no subject
I want this, I think it should happen. I should probably do a write-up of angels and whatnot, I just need to determine how the hell I wanna structure it.
no subject
Yeeeeeeees, I approve of this, partly because I would not mind having the information as I work out my kids. And. Yes. Whatever verse info you want to throw at me for City, really, I would be both gleeful and grateful?
no subject
Sometimes I wish I was the kind of person who knew how to navigate making their own wiki.

Johnsons
Anyway, if you do the magic school/camp/whatnot, this would help you with Peggy and her lot too, i think. Cause you were talking about wondering about that and that would answer a few questions there.

I feel weird so totally taking over the witches in City? Like, this is your universe, I did not mean to abduct this little corner of it. Or have so many people in it. XD I feel like these four would fit in there though so mmmmrh. If you don't mind? Then maybe?
This is true. I don't think school is required though; I think it's a community that the witches have built for themselves, but I don't think everyone goes there or even possibly knows about it. It's just an option people have.
no subject
Seriously though, I don't mind and if you want, I can try and have some input but I like what the witches are when you poke them, so I am totally fine with you taking off with that lot.
no subject
That sounds like a problem actually.
ANYWAY.
If you don't mind, I might do the thing? I'm gonna check with you along the way obviously and not just go "LOOK AND NOW THIS", but... yeah. WITCHES. And City. I like City better than anything I come up with alone. This goes for all your verses really. It's easier to play in yours than mine. Yours don't make me sad.
no subject
(Also, I like your verse? I kind of mean to poke them more, as I am not as familiar with them as I'd like to be but they make me smile all the same?)
no subject
(My verses just make me flail right now. Like I'm trying to get my brain in gear to shape them into something worthwhile and just... nope.)

Jo and Rhette
Rhette easily be human but if she's in City, I could also see her being a vampire? For some reason the vampires in City are the awkard teenagers of the supernatural community there. All awkward bodies, cravings, and uncertainty. She could have been interesting to Jo because she was new and shiny and can pass through the veil to the ghost worlds.
If she's human, that's cool too, I just thought of the vampires and wanted to pass that on.
Tyonna could be a Death, I can see that really easily, especially if she is a stabilizing force in their lives. I can also possibly see her having been adopted by Deaths and having that calm air about her but not actually being one, she's actually just human.
no subject
... Oh man, I could work with this and it actually brings things closer to how they were. (In her original verse, she was pretty much human but her dad was a Hook and she spent a couple very formative years lost in Neverland not actually growing up but mentally changing a lot? This is, one, how she attracted the attention of the fairy original!Jo got swapped with, and two, a large cause of her own mental awkwardness/depression after finding her way home. So vampirism is not a perfect 1-to-1 translation, but... yeah, you see what I mean?)
I like the idea of tying Tyoma to deaths one way or another; and not just because the idea of Changeling/Vampire/Death threesomes kind of make me happy in this weird way. I sort of like the idea of him being a full fledged Death. Maybe kind of a baby Death -- not the newest one around, but definitely fairly recent.
no subject
Hi,I am really enthused about all of these and want to see them but also Changeling/Vamprire/Death threesomes are like...Hell yes, gimme 'em
Anyway, transplant all the people into City, we can have fun with them and let them run around the verse and be lovley
no subject
Just the idea of it kind of makes me glee? So yeah. XD That's totally a reason to do things, right?
<33333 Apparently I am, so. XD (I need to figure out how/if there are connections to anyone existing and stuff, hmm.)
no subject
It is a good and valid reason, yes.

David Anthony Miller
He could totally work in Sable's verse. He could be a stabilizing element towards sem and could totally be a part of the epic family that the Curator is in. Could even be tied into the Curator herself and there's your family death via potential supernatural creature. I'm thinking that the family/group/whatnot has the power negating ability and that's why they can work with the artifacts and whatnot and why Sable didn't take form until the curator died. Se is stuck in one form when near David and yeah. Stuff

But yeah, I could see this blend-up working really well and I will help you if you'd like?

I need to poke that set more in general but I love the idea of the crew being in it. Also, as for the Contract-Keeper, I kind of...Okay, you remember the saints in Roadtrip?
I want her as a saint. I want her working with lies and justice and paying prices. I want her being trapped in a human body and almost getting arrested because she got pissed that people went back on the things they said would do and never did. I want her fierce and I her to be powerful and terrifying and I want her to have that power stripped from her so that she has to learn how to be all of those things without her abilities
And just...Something.
no subject
Ohhhhh, oh the saints. The saints make me happy. And I could see this and dear god she would be angry. Just this little ball of icy rage, oh yes. It would be lovely.
I love the idea of the saints in general still, too. Roadtrip made me happy period but. Saaaaaints.
no subject
:D:D:D I think this is a thing that should happen. I will work on it. I need to get back into poking Roadtrip again but I love the saints so very much and I want to work on them and all of it and having her would be excellent and all the things.
All of them.
Simon, Monty, Sarah Morgan and Mary Katherine
My second thought was something along the lines of...Science nad magic and research and the girls not having a reason to be afraid exactly but not wanting to be messed iwth?
Something happened a while back so that magical properties are being unlocked within humanity. The counties of the world are all racing each other to try and figure out what the hell is going on. Different parts of the world are taking different measures to deal with this. Some are more aggressive, corralling the magical folk and others are trying to entice them into labs and whatnot.
I can get more into this if you want but yeah, Something like that could be interesting.
no subject
I would love to hear more about this just cause it sounds interesting. XD I'm not sure if I'd put these four in it, but I like the idea in general.
I have considered lumping them, and some of the other superpowered-but-human or lives-around-superpowers-but-human kids, together before, but. Baaaaah. My ideas run thin for these kids? I really want to do something with the boys if not the girls (the girls would be fun but I have no real strong desire for it. The boys I still really like my goddamn vision of and always have so... yeah) but... idas. Are hard.
no subject
What my brain kind of did was, Monty gets found out and pulled into the lot that is getting tested. he is less than pleased by this and starts quietly fucking with stuff from the inside, since he knows how the science team operates. One of the girls is pulled into the pile as well and winds up helping while the other works iwth organizations on the outside to try and get them out.
There also may be a road trip in my head where in people travel to essentially safe zones and watch the world fall out of order. Think of it as a pre-dystopian story?
no subject
no subject
If not, it's fine, I will get around to putting it on the list or osmething. I just think it's a neat idea.
no subject
We will see? I'm too twitchy over my ability to write anything well to sign on to it at the moment but... we'll see.
no subject
Yesss :D I take this as a win.
